Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Gateway Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Gateway members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as community events, food outreach, and serving our neighbors.

Mission Outreach

Gateway Church is excited to be a small part of a huge spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in supporting missionaries with our money and with our prayers. The church missionaries are located around the world. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community. Our Church family is much larger than our local church and is far beyond the U.S. border. We have over 75,000 ministers in 64,000 churches and meeting places serving more than 8 million members around the world. In addition, we have close to 100 missionaries serving local people, not to mention thousands of people joining them on short-term missions trips. However you determine to join us you become part of a much bigger and larger ministry.

God-honoring worship is something we strive for.  At Gateway we believe God loves all forms of worship and it includes dance, art and drama. Some play their instruments, some are vocalists, some love to worship by dancing or painting art. These all are an important part of the ministry of God’s Church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

The usher team at Gateway Church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring  the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team requires commitment and servant heart from a group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Gateway Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes.  Various sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication, as well as utilizing worship media for mainstream worship. It’s important those with media talent be available as it’s a vital part of this generation of the body of Christ.

Marriage Counseling

Marriages can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage. Several couples at Gateway we serve other families as marriage ministers. Their role in listening, understanding, helping, and encouraging struggling couples has, by God’s grace, saved marriages, and repaired relationships. Couples have found fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Gateway  Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, our Prayer Warriors team, pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday morning, the leadership comes together for a special time of prayer.

Teens & Kid’s Church

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Gateway holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids & teens more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly teen & children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons.

Camp Counselors

Each summer, Gateway Church can participates in  Summer Camps. The event involves games, a lot of preaching, great food, good worship, and the intentional influence of of Gateway Members.
